Frequently asked questions
Where are my photos stored?
Imported photos are copied into Grid, on this device. They're never sent over the internet.
What happens if I delete the original from Photos?
Your collage stays as it is, because Grid copies each photo when you import it.
What sizes can I export?
Full size (for a story, 2160 × 3840 px) or social, with the short side at 1080 px. Choose JPEG or PNG.
How do I run one photo across two pages?
Tap the link button between two page numbers to join the pages. Joined pages export as one image per page, and the photo carries on across them.
How do I delete a page?
With nothing selected, open the inspector's Edit tab and choose Delete under Page. Tapping the current page number below the canvas opens the same menu. Undo brings a deleted page back.
How do I change the language?
Use the globe button at the top right of the Projects screen: English, 日本語, 简体中文 or System.
Which systems does Grid run on?
iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 or later, and macOS 14 or later.
How do I move my collages to another iPhone, iPad or Mac?
Use the backup button at the top left of the Projects screen: Export All as ZIP, then send the file with AirDrop or Files. On the other device, choose Import from ZIP from the same button; the collages come in with their photos. A collage that's already there is skipped, and one that differs is added as a copy, so nothing is overwritten. For a single collage, long-press it and choose Export as ZIP.
