How to use Grid

What each button does, on the real screens. In the app, the ? button on the Projects screen starts a two-minute guided tour.

The Projects screen

Your collages, each shown whole in its own shape.

  1. Tiles or listSwitch between tiles and a list.
  2. BackupExport every collage as a ZIP, or import from one: to move to another device, or to keep a copy.
  3. ? Guided tourStarts the two-minute tour. Skip it any time and pick up where you left off.
  4. LanguageEnglish, 日本語, 简体中文 or the system language.
  5. + New collagePick a size and a layout.
  6. A collageTap to open. Long-press to rename, export as ZIP or delete.

The editor

The canvas in the middle, your photos below, the inspector on the right.

  1. ‹ BackBack to Projects. Your work saves itself.
  2. Undo, RedoOne step at a time.
  3. TitleTap to rename the collage.
  4. Add a photo areaAdds a frame in the first free spot.
  5. TextAdds a title, text, or a title-date-text block.
  6. ExportSave or share as images.
  7. InspectorShows or hides the panel on the right.
  8. Edit / CanvasSettings for what's selected, or for the whole collage.
  9. CanvasTap to select, drag to move, pull a handle to resize. Double-tap to adjust a photo or type text; long-press to swap photos.
  10. LinkJoin or separate neighboring pages. Photos can run across joined pages.
  11. Page numberTap to go to a page. Tap the current page's number for its menu; long-press and drag to reorder.
  12. + Import photosOpens a large photo picker. Photos line up in the order you pick them.
  13. Photo stripDrag a photo up onto a frame, or tap it to fill the selected frame. ✓ means it's placed.

Adjusting a photo

Double-tap a photo to move it inside its frame; the frame stays put.

  1. Adjust barDrag to move, pinch to zoom, twist to turn. It settles on right angles.
  2. Rotate 90°Turns the photo a quarter right.
  3. ResetPuts position, zoom and angle back.
  4. DoneFinishes adjusting.
  5. Remove photoKeeps the frame, removes the photo.
  6. ZoomZoom with a slider, too.
  7. Tone curveTouch the curve to add a point, then drag it. Switch between RGB and R, G, B.
  8. ArrangeChanges which area is on top.
  9. Duplicate, copy, deleteDuplicate, copy or delete the area.

Adding text

Lines of text follow the grid's rows. Vertical writing works too.

  1. Text on the canvasDouble-tap to type in place; tap outside to finish.
  2. Text fieldYou can type here, too.
  3. SizeTitle, Subtitle, Body, Small. Slide on the number to fine-tune.
  4. FontSans, Serif, Helvetica, Mono, and weight.
  5. Line height, letter spacingSlide, or tap to type a number.
  6. DirectionHorizontal or vertical.
  7. AlignmentWithin lines, and where the block sits.
  8. Lines on gridSpaces lines to match the grid's rows.
  9. ColorCommon colors, or any color.

The whole collage

The inspector's Canvas tab applies to every page.

  1. BackgroundPick a color; the last one is any color.
  2. SpacingThe gap between frames.
  3. MarginAround the edge of the canvas.
  4. Corner radiusHow round the photos' corners are.
  5. Columns, rowsSlide to change; your layout keeps its proportions.
  6. SizeSquare, Portrait, Story, Landscape, Wide, A4.

Pages

As many pages as you like in one collage, ready for a carousel post.

  1. Current page numberTap for its menu (duplicate, move, delete). Long-press and drag to reorder.
  2. Page menuUndo brings a deleted page back.
  3. Link (joined)Tap to separate the pages.
  4. Link (separate)Tap to join them.
  5. + Add pageAdds a blank page. Long-press to duplicate the current page.
  6. Page in the inspectorWith nothing selected: duplicate and delete.

Exporting

The preview is the images you're about to save.

  1. PreviewOne image per page.
  2. JPEG / PNGJPEG for photos; PNG for text-heavy or exact colors.
  3. Full Size / SocialSocial is 1080 px on the short side.
  4. Save to PhotosAsks permission to add photos the first time.
  5. Save to Files"Save…" on Mac.
