Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Grid, a photo collage app ("the app"), and this website handle information.
Information we collect
The app collects no personal information, such as your name or email address, and no usage or analytics data.
Your photos and collages
Photos you import are stored on your device as copies made for the app, and so are the collages you make. We never receive or see them. If you back up your device, for example with iCloud Backup, they may be part of that backup.
Location and other metadata
When you import a photo, the app copies only the image. It doesn't keep the photo's metadata (Exif), such as where and when it was taken or which camera took it. So the images you export, and backup ZIP files, don't carry your photos' locations.
Access to Photos
You choose photos in the system photo picker, or drag them in from another app. The app receives only the photos you choose and never asks to read your whole photo library. If a photo you choose is in iCloud Photos, the system downloads it from iCloud. The app asks for permission to add photos only when you save an exported image to Photos, and you can change this at any time in Settings.
Sharing and exporting
Images and ZIP files leave the app only when you send or save them yourself, with the share sheet, AirDrop, Files and the like. From there, they're handled under the policies of that app or service.
Third parties, ads and tracking
The app uses no third-party SDKs or analytics and shows no ads. It shares no information with third parties and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Diagnostics from Apple
If you've turned on Share With App Developers on your device, Apple may send us crash reports and usage statistics in a form that doesn't identify you. We use them only to fix problems. You can change this at any time in Settings (System Settings on a Mac) › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Settings
Preferences such as the display language, the Projects layout and your progress in the guided tour are stored on your device.
Deleting your data
You can delete a collage in the app at any time. On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app removes all the collages, photo copies and settings it stored (images and ZIP files you saved to Photos or Files stay where you saved them). We hold none of this data, so there's nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children's privacy
Because the app collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
